So in early 2015, after seeing all the great outdoor photography out there, and comparing it the mediocre snapshots I've taken in the past, I decided I wanted to improve my photography skills. I took a couple of classes here in DC, and got a good video course taught by National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore. I started with my mom's old Nikon, but soon bought my first DSLR, a compact Canon Rebel SL1 with a 18-55 lens and a 55-200 lens. The SL1 is a pretty intro DSLR, but I like it's compact size for backpacking.
I've slowly expanded my equipment with an Osprey case for the trail, some neutral density filters, and a basic Revel tripod. I'm trying to gradually improve my skill and eye for interesting photographs. Here are a few of my favorite photos, most of which are pulled from some of the other blogs on this site.
